The same section of the same file, twice

One page of the TransUnion report, Accounts with Adverse Information, captured 05/01/2026, the day the dispute was filed, and again on 07/06/2026 after the investigation closed. Nothing else about the section changed, which is what makes the one difference readable.

Exhibit A05/01/2026 TransUnion · adverse accounts · before dispute
TransUnion Accounts with Adverse Information section before the dispute, listing three accounts: Citicards CBNA $5,056, FNB Omaha $996, and Wells Fargo Card Serv $4,263. Account numbers are redacted.

Exhibit B07/06/2026 TransUnion · adverse accounts · after investigation
The same TransUnion Accounts with Adverse Information section after the investigation, listing only two accounts: Citicards CBNA $5,056 and FNB Omaha $996, with the section ending at the Satisfactory Accounts heading. Account numbers are redacted.

Captured 07/06/2026. Two accounts listed, both unchanged. The third row is absent. The section closes straight into Satisfactory Accounts. Account numbers redacted by Pinnacle.
How to read this pair The surviving rows are the control. Citicards and FNB Omaha carry identical balances in both captures, $5,056 and $996, so the section was not re-sorted, re-paginated, or re-scoped between pulls. Against two fixed rows, the disappearance of the third is a deletion from the file rather than a difference in how the page was displayed. The second capture is 66 days after the first, well past the 30-day window §611 gives the bureau, so it reflects a closed investigation, not a tradeline suppressed while one was still pending. That is also the limit of what the pair proves: it establishes that the tradeline came off and stayed off, not what any score did afterward.
Discipline

What we are not claiming

Most credit-repair case studies lead with a score chart. This one doesn't, and the reason matters more than the number would.

Read this before you read anything else

  • The score movement on this file is not attributed to these deletions. During the same window an authorized-user account was added to the file by a third party. That addition, not our dispute work, is the most likely driver of the score change, and we will not present it as our result.
  • The deletions were on TransUnion and Experian respectively. A deletion at one bureau does not change a score calculated from another bureau's data. Each bureau holds its own file.
  • Other adverse accounts remain on this file. Several charged-off balances were accurate, current and verifiable. Those were not challenged, because accurate information generally cannot be removed, and should not be.
  • This is one file. It is not typical, not a projection, and not a promise. Results depend entirely on what a given report actually contains.
Method

How the two items were challenged

  1. Preserve the baseline Dated reports pulled from all three bureaus and stored before anything was disputed. Without a baseline you cannot prove a field changed.
  2. Compare bureau against bureau The same account reported three ways cannot be right three ways. Cross-bureau contradiction is evidence, not opinion.
  3. Identify the defect, not the debt Disputes named a specific field and a specific inconsistency. Nobody was asked to remove something merely because it was unwelcome.
  4. Route to the right duty Reporting accuracy to the bureau under FCRA §611; permissible-purpose challenge for the inquiry. Different problems, different statutory doors.
  5. Document the outcome Bureau results retained, dated, and reconciled against a fresh pull. A deletion that isn't documented didn't happen.
Questions

What this file does and does not answer

Can a charged-off credit card be removed from a credit report?

It can when the charge-off is reported inaccurately, incompletely, or unverifiably. On this file a Wells Fargo Card Serv charge-off carrying a $4,263 balance appeared on the TransUnion adverse-accounts page captured May 1, 2026 and was absent from the same section on July 6, 2026. Accurate, current and verifiable charge-offs generally cannot be removed.

How long does it take to remove an unauthorized hard inquiry?

On this file, twelve days. The inquiry was challenged on permissible-purpose grounds, the legal question of whether the party had a right to pull the report at all, filed May 6, 2026 and removed from the Experian file by May 18, 2026. Turnaround varies by bureau and by the facts of each inquiry.

How do you prove a tradeline was deleted rather than the page just being re-sorted?

By reading the absence against rows that did not move. The neighbouring adverse accounts appear identically on both captures, with the same balances in the same positions, so the section was not re-sorted, re-paginated, or re-scoped between pulls. Without those unchanged control rows, a missing row proves nothing.

Does removing an item at one bureau raise a score at another bureau?

No. Each bureau maintains its own file, and a score is calculated from the data in the file it is drawn from. A TransUnion deletion does not change an Experian score. This case file treats the TransUnion tradeline and the Experian inquiry as two separate outcomes for that reason.
